  • 1 cup milk dairy or non-dairy

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey/maple syrup

  • Pinch salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Combine oats, milk, diced apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Stir all ingredients together until well combined.
  • Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, stirring halfway, until oats are cooked and creamy and apple is soft.
  • Let stand for 1 minute before serving.
  • Optionally, top with chopped nuts or a dollop of yogurt for extra flavor and texture.

Notes

Adjust sweetness and cinnamon to your preference. For a thicker oatmeal, reduce milk slightly. For a thinner consistency, add more milk after cooking.
