Equipment

  • large skillet
  • small bowl
  • 9x13 inch baking dish or baking sheet
  • foil

Ingredients

Sliders

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls or similar dinner rolls
  • 6 slices American cheese quartered
  • 1/2 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle chips drained

Special Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of paprika

Instructions

Prepare the Beef

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart and draining excess grease. Stir in onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then set aside.

Make the Special Sauce

  • Whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, sweet pickle relish, white vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust seasonings as desired.

Assemble the Sliders

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the entire slab of rolls horizontally and place the bottom half in a baking dish or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Layer it Up

  • Spread half of the special sauce on the bottom rolls, then layer the cooked ground beef evenly over the sauce. Arrange the quartered American cheese slices on top of the beef.

Top and Bake

  • Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese and beef, then cover the baking dish loosely with foil. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the rolls are lightly toasted.

Finish and Serve

  • Remove from the oven, lift the top rolls, and spread the remaining special sauce over the beef and cheese layer. Sprinkle with shredded lettuce and dill pickle chips before replacing the top rolls.

Slice and Enjoy

  • Slice the sliders along their original seams to separate them. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can lightly toast the Hawaiian rolls before assembling the sliders. Ensure the cheese is fully melted for the best texture.
