Equipment

  • Medium Bowl
  • Electric Mixer
  • Small Cookie Scoop
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl or Double Boiler
  • Fork

Ingredients

Cookie Dough

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter softened
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar packed
  • 1 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour heat-treated
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Mini Chocolate Chips

Coating & Decoration

  • 10-12 oz Chocolate Baking Bark or Melting Wafers
  • Sprinkles or sea salt Optional

Instructions

Prepare the Dough

  • In a medium bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy using an electric mixer.
  • Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until well combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
  • Gradually add heat-treated all-purpose flour to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined without overmixing.
  • Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Form and Chill

  • Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, roll the dough into 1-inch bite-sized balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Refrigerate the baking sheet for at least 15-20 minutes to firm up the truffles.

Coat and Decorate

  • While the truffles chill, melt the chocolate baking bark or melting wafers according to package directions using a microwave or double boiler.
  • Dip each chilled cookie dough truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off.
  • Immediately place the coated truffle back on the parchment-lined baking sheet and, if desired, sprinkle with sea salt or sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  • Return the truffles to the refrigerator for another 15-30 minutes, or until the chocolate coating is completely set.

Notes

Ensure your flour is heat-treated to safely consume it raw. This recipe yields approximately 24 truffles.
