  • 8 oz high-quality dark chocolate (60-70% cocoa solids) finely chopped or in chip form
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1-2 tbsp liqueur Optional: such as Grand Marnier, Kahlua, or rum

  • fresh strawberries

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash and dry your chosen dippers, then arrange them on platters.
  • Set a heatproof bowl with chocolate over a saucepan of simmering water, ensuring it doesn't touch the water.
  • Gently stir the chocolate until it is mostly melted and smooth.
  • Warm the heavy cream in a separate pan or microwave until steamy.
  • Gradually whisk the warm cream into the melted chocolate until glossy and smooth.
  • Stir in any desired liqueur, sea salt, or vanilla extract.
  • Transfer the fondue to a fondue pot and set the flame to its lowest setting.
  • Serve with your prepared dippers and fondue forks, reminding guests not to double-dip.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality dark chocolate. Adjust the flame on your fondue pot to keep the chocolate warm without scorching it.
