  • Two forks

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2-3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 18-20 ounces your favorite BBQ sauce

Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.

Sauce

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and all spices until well combined.

Cooking

  • Pour the BBQ sauce mixture evenly over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or on high for 1.5-2.5 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and shreds easily.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken breasts to a cutting board and shred them into bite-sized pieces using two forks.
  • Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker, stir it into the BBQ sauce, and simmer for another 15-20 minutes on low heat for maximum flavor absorption.

Serving

  • Ladle the saucy BBQ chicken onto buns, rice, or as part of your favorite meal and enjoy.

Notes

Cooking times may vary based on your slow cooker and the thickness of the chicken. For less mess, you can shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker.
