  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and de-veined fresh or frozen, thawed
  • 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes or more, to taste) (optional

Preparation

  • Pat the peeled and de-veined shrimp dry with paper towels and season them lightly with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Melt butter with olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  • Add seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.

Finishing

  • Remove skillet from heat, stir in fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley, and toss to coat.
  • Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Ensure shrimp are thoroughly dry for best searing. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook shrimp in batches if needed to ensure even cooking.
