  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, dissolved in 2 tablespoons cold water slurry
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil; set aside.
  • In a separate small bowl, whisk cornstarch with cold water to create a smooth slurry.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add chicken pieces in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Reduce heat to medium, then pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.

Serving

  • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
