Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Parchment paper
  • Large baking sheet
  • Small bowl

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 recommended
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough OR biscuit dough
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or preferred cheese for combos

For the Garlic Parmesan topping

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

For the Classic Cheddar & Bacon combo for filling the bombs:

  • ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup cooked, crumbled bacon

Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper, breaking up the meat until fully browned.
  • Drain any excess grease and let the beef cool slightly. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Assembly

  • If using crescent rolls, separate the dough into triangles; if using biscuits, flatten them into 4-5 inch rounds.
  • Place 1-2 tablespoons of the seasoned ground beef in the center of each dough portion, then top with shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
  • Bring the edges of the dough together, pinching firmly to seal and form a ball, ensuring no gaps for the filling to escape.
  • Place the sealed bombs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with the remaining beef and dough.

Topping and Baking

  • In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped fresh parsley. Brush this mixture generously over the top of each bomb.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic parmesan topping. Ensure the dough is well-sealed to prevent cheese from leaking during baking. These bombs are delicious served with a side of marinara sauce or ranch dressing.
