  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • small bowl
  • whisk

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 6-8 medium-sized Jalapeños
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese shredded (sharp cheddar recommended)
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry thawed
  • 2-3 slices Bacon cooked crispy and crumbled (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • Salt To taste
  • Black Pepper To taste

Egg Wash

  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Water

Instructions

Preparation

  • Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise, then use a spoon to scoop out seeds and membranes and pat them dry.

Making the Filling

  • Combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, crumbled bacon (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl; mix well.

Assemble the Twists

  • Spoon the cream cheese mixture generously into each jalapeño half.
  • Unroll the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into thin strips (1/2-inch to 3/4-inch wide).
  • Place a stuffed jalapeño half on one end of a pastry strip, then wrap and twist the pastry around the jalapeño, pinching the ends to seal.

Baking

  • Arrange twists on a parchment-lined baking sheet, then whisk an egg with water for an egg wash and brush it over each twist.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown, puffed, and bubbly, then cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra heat, leave a few seeds in the jalapeños. Ensure the puff pastry is fully thawed but still cold for best results when handling. Serve immediately for the best crispy texture.
