Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Ziploc bag
  • Rolling pin
  • Medium-sized bowl
  • Spatula
  • Parchment-lined baking sheet
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Fork or dipping tool

Ingredients

Oreo Truffles

  • 1 package Oreo cookies 15.3 oz
  • ½ block cream cheese 8 oz, softened
  • 1 lb green candy melts or green-tinted white chocolate
  • red candy hearts Small
  • Green food coloring (if using white chocolate, oil-based)
  • Sprinkles (red or white)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place the entire package of Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until finely ground into uniform crumbs. Alternatively, crush them with a rolling pin in a Ziploc bag.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese, mixing thoroughly until a thick, pliable dough forms.
  • Roll the mixture into small, 1-inch diameter, bite-sized balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 30 minutes, or until firm, to help them hold their shape.
  • Melt the green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl according to package directions, stirring frequently. If using white chocolate, melt it gently and stir in oil-based green food coloring until the desired Grinch green is achieved.
  • Using a fork or dipping tool, carefully dip each chilled truffle into the melted green candy coating, tapping off any excess.
  • Place the dipped truffle back on the parchment-lined baking sheet and immediately press one small red candy heart onto each truffle before the coating sets.
  • Allow the truffles to set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes in the fridge.

Notes

For best results, ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing. Chill the truffles thoroughly before dipping to prevent them from falling apart in the warm candy coating.
