  • 2 ripe medium bananas
  • 1 ½ cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Optional Add-ins

  • ¼ cup shredded apple or zucchini
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce or pumpkin puree
  • ¼ cup finely chopped berries e.g., blueberries, raspberries
  • 1-2 tablespoons chia seeds or ground flax seeds
  • A tiny pinch vanilla extract

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • Mash ripe bananas thoroughly in a medium bowl until very smooth.
  • Add rolled oats, ground cinnamon, and any optional add-ins to the mashed bananas.
  • Stir all ingredients together until just combined.
  • Drop spoonfuls of mixture onto the baking sheet, then flatten and shape into small, round cookies (2-3 inches in diameter, ½ inch thick).
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden brown and cookies are set.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or a few dark chocolate chips (for older toddlers). You can store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze them for longer storage.
