Ingredients
  

Pizza Dough

  • 1 ball store-bought pizza dough ball

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup canned crushed tomatoes or passata

Toppings

  • 4 oz fresh mozzarella cheese drained and sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • salt Pinch of
  • black pepper Pinch of

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 220-250°C (425-475°F) with a pizza stone or baking steel, if using.

Forming the Pizza

  • Lightly flour a surface and roll out the dough to your desired thickness; then transfer to an oiled pizza pan.

Adding Toppings

  • Spread a thin layer of crushed tomatoes over the dough, leaving a border for the crust.
  • Arrange sliced fresh mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.

Baking

  • Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven or hot pizza stone/steel.
  • Bake for 8-15 minutes, until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly and browned.

Finishing and Serving

  • Remove from oven and immediately scatter fresh basil leaves over the top.
  • Rest for a minute or two, then slice and serve hot.

Notes

For an extra crispy crust, ensure your pizza stone or baking steel is thoroughly preheated. Do not overload the pizza with toppings, especially moisture-rich ingredients, to prevent a soggy crust.
