Equipment

  • Slow Cooker
  • Paper Towels
  • Skillet (optional, for searing)
  • Forks

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3-4 lb Chuck Roast
  • 1 packet Ranch Seasoning Mix (1 oz)
  • 1 packet Au Jus Gravy Mix (0.75 oz)
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (1 stick)
  • 5-6 Pepperoncini Peppers

Optional (for searing)

  • tablespoon Oil

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the chuck roast dry with paper towels. Optionally, sear the roast in an oiled skillet over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.

Slow Cooking

  • Place the chuck roast into your slow cooker. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix and then the au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.
  • Cut the butter into pats and place them on top of the roast. Arrange the pepperoncini peppers around the roast, and optionally add 1-2 tablespoons of pepperoncini juice.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours, until the meat is very tender and shreds easily.

Finishing and Serving

  • Once cooked, shred the pot roast directly in the Crockpot with two forks, allowing it to soak up the juices. Gently stir everything together.
  • Serve the warm pot roast with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

For the most tender results, cooking on low for longer is recommended. Adjust the number of pepperoncini peppers to your taste for more or less kick.
