  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (2 sticks)
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can pimento-stuffed green olives, well-drained (5.75-ounce)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream softened butter and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined and fluffy.
  • Gradually add flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the butter and cheese mixture, mixing on low speed until a soft dough forms.
  • Flatten a small teaspoon of dough, place a well-drained pimento-stuffed green olive in the center, and mold the dough around it to form a smooth ball.
  • Place the formed olive cheese balls onto the prepared baking sheet, ensuring some space between each.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese balls are golden brown and slightly puffed.
  • Remove from oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a serving platter.

Notes

These cheese balls are best served warm. You can prepare the dough ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to 2 days before forming and baking the balls.
