Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper or Aluminum Foil
  • Small Bowl
  • Whisk

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 Salmon Fillets (about 6 oz each), skin-on or skinless, wild-caught or sustainably farmed
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil extra virgin
  • 1 Lemon half sliced for baking, half for juicing later

Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika smoked paprika works wonderfully here for an extra layer of flavor
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dried Dill (or 1 tablespoon fresh)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt (or to taste)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper (freshly ground is best)

Garnish (Optional)

  • Fresh Parsley or Dill chopped

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Seasoning

  • Whisk together olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, dried dill, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  • Brush the seasoned olive oil mixture generously over each salmon fillet.
  • Arrange lemon slices over each salmon fillet.

Baking & Serving

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until the salmon flakes easily and reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Remove from the oven, let rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley or dill and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, if desired.

Notes

For extra crispiness, ensure the salmon skin is thoroughly dry before seasoning. The internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) is key for perfectly cooked salmon. Enjoy with your favorite side dishes!
