  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika optional
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or scallions chopped, for garnish, optional

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or deep pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground turkey to the hot pan, break it up, and cook until fully browned (5-7 minutes). Drain any excess fat.
  • Push the turkey to one side and add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the other, cooking until softened (5 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook for one minute until fragrant.
  • Stir together the turkey, onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Add diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, and smoked paprika, then stir well.
  • Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens and flavors meld.
  • Taste and season with salt and black pepper as needed. Garnish with fresh parsley or scallions if desired, and serve hot.
