  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet, ensuring they are close together without overlapping.

Caramel and Assembly

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramel candies and milk; microwave for 1 minute, then stir.
  • Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring vigorously until the caramel is smooth and melted.
  • Pour melted caramel over the crackers, spreading evenly, then immediately sprinkle with flaky sea salt.

Cooling and Serving

  • Allow crackers to cool completely at room temperature or chill in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes until firm.
  • Once firm, break the caramel cracker sheets into individual bites.

Notes

For easier handling, ensure the caramel is fully set before breaking the bites. You can also experiment with a sprinkle of chocolate chips on top of the caramel before it sets for an extra treat.
