  • 4 6-ounce skin-on or skinless salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning store-bought or homemade
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil

  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  • Evenly sprinkle and gently press the Cajun seasoning onto all sides of each salmon fillet.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Carefully place the salmon fillets, skin-side down if applicable, into the hot skillet and sear for 3-5 minutes until the skin is crisp and golden-brown.
  • Flip the salmon and cook for another 2-4 minutes, or until cooked through and flakes easily; for thicker fillets, transfer the skillet to a preheated 400°F/200°C oven to finish.
  • Remove the salmon from the pan, let it rest for a minute, then garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

Adjust Cajun seasoning to your spice preference. If using skinless salmon, searing time might be slightly less. Do not overcook the salmon to keep it moist.
