Ingredients
  

Sauce

  • 1 cup yellow mustard
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar light or dark
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan, whisk together all ingredients until well combined and sugar begins to dissolve.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
  • Reduce heat to low and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently; the sauce will thicken and flavors will meld.
  • Taste the sauce and add salt as needed; remember flavors will intensify as it cools.
  • Remove from heat, let cool completely, then transfer to an airtight container or jar.

Notes

This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. It is excellent on pork, chicken, or as a dipping sauce.
