  • 1.5 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce Frank's RedHot is a classic, but use your favorite
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper adjust to your spice preference
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Pat the peeled and deveined shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.

Voodoo Sauce

  • Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in hot sauce, Worcestershire, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
  • Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened and sugar is dissolved, then keep warm.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.

Serving

  • Remove the skillet from heat, pour warm Voodoo sauce over shrimp, and toss gently to coat.
  • Transfer to a platter, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

Adjust cayenne pepper to your desired spice level. You can prepare the Voodoo sauce ahead of time and gently reheat before serving.
