Equipment

  • Small bowl
  • Oven
  • Baking sheet (optional)

Ingredients

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon sriracha (or more, to taste, for extra heat)
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated ginger (optional, but highly recommended)

For the Flatbread Pizza:

  • 2 pre-made flatbreads (naan bread works wonderfully here)
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese (or cream cheese for a richer base)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cooked chicken or cooked shrimp (optional, for protein)
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • red pepper flakes A pinch (optional, for extra kick)
  • olive oil A drizzle, for brushing

Instructions

Preheat Oven & Prep Sauce:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, sriracha, and optional ginger in a small bowl, then set aside.

Prepare Flatbreads:

  • Lightly brush the flatbreads with a little olive oil to help them crisp up.

Build the Base:

  • Spread an even layer of ricotta cheese over each flatbread, leaving a small border for the crust.

Add Toppings:

  • Evenly distribute cooked chicken or shrimp (if using), shredded mozzarella, and diced red onion over the ricotta.

Sauce it Up:

  • Drizzle about half of the honey-garlic sauce over the toppings on both flatbreads. Save the rest for after baking and sprinkle with red pepper flakes now if desired.

Bake:

  • Place flatbreads directly on the oven rack or a baking sheet and bake for 8-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is lightly golden.

Finish & Serve:

  • Carefully remove pizzas from the oven, drizzle with the remaining honey-garlic sauce, and garnish generously with fresh chopped cilantro. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

For a truly gluten-free option, ensure your soy sauce is tamari and your flatbreads are certified gluten-free. Adjust the sriracha and red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
