Cranberry Pistachio Cheese Ball

Ingredients
  

Cheese Ball Base

  • 8 oz Full-fat cream cheese softened
  • 4 oz Goat cheese softened (or your preferred other cheese for the base)

Mix-ins and Coating

  • 0.5 cup Dried cranberries finely chopped
  • 1 cup Shelled pistachios finely chopped (divided for mix-ins and coating)
  • 1 Orange zest from 1 small orange
  • 1 dash Ground cinnamon

Garnish (Optional)

  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley finely chopped

Preparation

  • Ensure both cream cheese and goat cheese are at room temperature for easy mixing.

Mixing and Shaping

  • In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and goat cheese until smooth using an electric mixer or sturdy spoon.
  • Fold in the chopped dried cranberries, half of the pistachios, orange zest, and cinnamon until evenly distributed.
  • Transfer the mixture onto plastic wrap and shape it into a ball.

Chilling and Serving

  • Refrigerate the cheese ball for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight, until it is firm.
  • Before serving, unwrap the chilled cheese ball and roll it in the remaining finely chopped pistachios.
  • Place on a platter, optionally garnish with parsley, and serve with crackers, bread, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cheese mixture. You can also experiment with different nuts like pecans or walnuts for the coating.
