Ingredients
  

Pasta

  • 300 g short pasta such as rigatoni, penne, or fusilli

Sauce

  • 200 ml heavy cream
  • 100 g pesto sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 50 g Parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 250 ml vegetable broth
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Garnish

  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes halved

Instructions
 

Cooking

  • Combine pasta, heavy cream, pesto, minced garlic, vegetable broth, salt, and pepper in a large pot.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is al dente and sauce thickens.
  • Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.

Serving

  • Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil and halved cherry tomatoes.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add cooked chicken or shrimp during the last few minutes of cooking. Adjust the amount of pesto to your taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water to reach desired consistency.
