Ingredients

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz), skin on or off
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Honey Garlic Glaze

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp mirin (or rice vinegar)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)

Garnish (optional)

  • fresh parsley or cilantro Chopped
  • Lemon wedges
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

Prepare Salmon

  • Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels; season with salt and pepper.

Make Glaze

  • In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, mirin, minced garlic, and grated ginger.

Cook Salmon

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon skin-side down (if applicable) and cook for 4-6 minutes until crispy. Flip and cook an additional 3-5 minutes, or until cooked through. Remove salmon and set aside.

Thicken Glaze

  • Pour the glaze mixture into the same skillet. Bring to a simmer and stir in the cornstarch slurry. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the glaze thickens.

Glaze Salmon

  • Return salmon to the skillet and spoon the thickened glaze over each fillet, ensuring they are well coated.

Serve

  • Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro, lemon wedges, and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, ensure the salmon skin is very dry before searing. You can adjust the amount of garlic and ginger to your preference. This dish pairs well with steamed rice and roasted vegetables.
