  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 5 medium potatoes peeled and sliced
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

  • Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a large skillet, then drain any excess grease.
  • In a bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the slow cooker, followed by the cooked ground beef and onion mixture.
  • Pour half of the soup mixture over the beef, then repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes and soup mixture.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until potatoes are tender.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top during the last 30 minutes of cooking, allowing it to melt.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of garlic powder or paprika to the ground beef. You can also customize by adding frozen mixed vegetables during the last hour of cooking.
