Equipment

  • Paper towels
  • Small bowl
  • Large oven-safe skillet (cast iron)
  • Meat thermometer (optional)

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound salmon fillets skin on or off
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 4-5 garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/2 lemon for squeezing
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the salmon fillets dry and season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  • Combine melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley in a small bowl; stir until well combined.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Place salmon fillets skin-side down (if applicable) in the hot skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until crispy.
  • Flip the salmon and immediately brush half of the garlic butter mixture generously over each fillet.
  • Continue cooking on the stovetop for 3-5 minutes or transfer to a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 5-8 minutes until cooked through.

Serving

  • Remove from heat, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the salmon, and serve immediately with remaining garlic butter and extra parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the salmon marinate in the garlic butter for 15-20 minutes before cooking. Adjust cooking times based on the thickness of your salmon fillets to ensure they are cooked perfectly through without drying out.
