Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Select a large serving board made of wood, slate, or marble to be the foundation for your charcuterie board.
  • Strategically place the Brie, Aged Cheddar, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and Gorgonzola on the board, cutting some cheeses into wedges or cubes while leaving one whole for visual appeal.
  • Artfully fold slices of prosciutto and arrange the salami, either folded or fanned out; if using pâté, place it in a small dish on the board.
  • Place assorted crackers, baguette slices, and breadsticks in various accessible spots around the cheeses and meats.
  • Fill any open spaces on the board with fresh grapes, strawberries, sliced figs, apple and pear slices, olives, and cornichons.
  • Place small bowls of honey, fig jam, and Dijon mustard directly on the board, providing tiny spoons or knives for serving.
  • Sprinkle walnuts, almonds, and pistachios into empty areas, particularly around the cheeses and fruits, to add crunch.
  • Garnish the board with sprigs of fresh rosemary and optional edible flowers to complete its festive look.
  • Present the board with small plates, cocktail napkins, and appropriate serving utensils, encouraging guests to create their own plates.
  • For leftovers, transfer meats and cheeses to airtight containers and refrigerate, storing crackers separately to maintain freshness, and consume within 2-3 days.

Notes

For best results, arrange the charcuterie board just before serving to ensure freshness and visual appeal. Consider adding a variety of textures and colors for an even more inviting presentation. Enjoy with your favorite wine or festive beverage!
