  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; set aside.

Making the Dough

  • In a large bowl, melt the butter, then whisk in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra fudginess, slightly underbake the cookies. You can also press additional chocolate chips on top of the dough balls before baking for a prettier presentation.
