Ingredients

For the Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (6-ounce), skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • lemon wedges for serving

For the Luxurious Creamy Dijon Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 shallot small, finely minced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio) OR chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

Salmon

  • Pat salmon fillets dry, then brush with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

Grill Salmon

  • Place salmon flesh-side down on the hot grill and cook for 4-6 minutes until grill marks appear. Flip and cook for another 3-5 minutes until cooked through (145°F / 63°C), then remove.
  • While salmon cooks, melt butter in a saucepan, add shallot and cook for 2-3 minutes until soft, then add garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.

Prepare Sauce

  • Pour in white wine or chicken broth, simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce by half.
  • Stir in heavy cream and Dijon mustard, simmer gently for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Remove from heat, stir in lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve

  • Place grilled salmon on plates, spoon sauce over each fillet, garnish with parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

For best results, ensure your grill is hot enough before placing the salmon to achieve good grill marks and prevent sticking. Using fresh ingredients, especially the lemon juice and parsley, will elevate the flavors of this dish.
