Equipment

  • Large Skillet or Dutch Oven
  • Sharp Knife
  • Small Bowl
  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients

For the Chicken & Sauce:

  • 1.5 lbs Chicken Breasts boneless, skinless, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 4 tablespoons Butter unsalted is best
  • 4-5 cloves Garlic or 2 tsp pre-minced
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese freshly grated
  • 2 oz Cream Cheese softened
  • Salt To taste
  • Black Pepper To taste
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning optional
  • Fresh Parsley For garnish, chopped

For the Garlic Bread Bowls:

  • 4 Round Sourdough or Artisan Bread Loaves small to medium-sized (about 6-8 inches in diameter)
  • 1/2 cup Butter melted
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Dried Parsley Flakes

Instructions

Chicken & Sauce

  • Pat chicken cubes dry and season with salt, pepper, and optional Italian seasoning.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook seasoned chicken until golden brown and cooked through, then set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat, then sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in heavy cream and simmer gently, whisking occasionally. Reduce heat to low, add softened cream cheese, and whisk until smooth.
  • Gradually stir in Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Return cooked chicken to the Alfredo sauce and stir to coat, keeping it warm over very low heat.

Bread Bowls

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut a circle around the top of each bread loaf, forming a lid, then scoop out the soft bread to create a bowl, leaving a 1/2-inch thick shell.
  • Whisk together melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley flakes in a small bowl.
  • Brush the inside of each bread bowl and the lids generously with the garlic butter.
  • Place bowls and lids on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden and fragrant.
  • Ladle the warm Chicken Alfredo into each toasted bread bowl, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can toast the scooped-out bread pieces with garlic butter and serve them as a side for dipping into the Alfredo sauce. Adjust the amount of garlic to your preference; fresh is always best!
