Equipment

  • Aluminum foil
  • Baking sheet

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 Salmon fillets about 6 ounces each
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 Lemon half zested, half juiced per fillet
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 4 sprigs Fresh dill chopped (or 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 sheets Heavy-duty aluminum foil approx. 12x18 inches each

Instructions

Cooking Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare four 12x18 inch sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  • Pat salmon fillets dry, place each on foil, then drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper, minced garlic, chopped dill, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  • Bring the longer sides of the foil together over the salmon and fold tightly to create a sealed seam; then, fold the shorter sides up and over, sealing tightly to create a secure packet where no steam can escape.
  • Place the foil packets on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily.
  • Carefully open the foil packets, as steam will escape, and serve the salmon directly from the foil or transfer to plates.

Notes

Be careful when opening the foil packets due to hot steam. Adjust baking time based on the thickness of your salmon fillets.
