These oven-baked cheesy beef tacos are a simple and delicious meal. Ground beef is seasoned and nestled in warm tortillas with melted cheese, then baked until crispy.

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 12-18 small street taco size Corn or Flour Tortillas
  • 1.5 cups Shredded Cheese Cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a Mexican blend
  • 2-3 tbsp Vegetable Oil or olive oil

Optional Toppings

  • Lettuce
  • diced tomatoes
  • salsa
  • sour cream
  • guacamole
  • jalapeños
  • onions
  • cilantro

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Brown ground beef in a large skillet, then drain any excess grease and stir in taco seasoning and water.
  • Simmer for 5-7 minutes until liquid is absorbed and beef is well-seasoned.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly brush a baking sheet with vegetable oil.
  • Warm 2-3 tortillas at a time on the baking sheet for 1-2 minutes per side until pliable.
  • Spread cheese on half of each tortilla, spoon beef filling over the cheese, and fold into a half-moon shape.

Baking & Serving

  • Arrange folded tacos on the oiled baking sheet, sprinkle with extra cheese if desired, and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra crispy tacos, flip them halfway through baking. Don't overcrowd the baking sheet; bake in batches if necessary.
