Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Strainer
  • Large skillet
  • Tongs

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 8 oz linguine or quick-cooking pasta
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • lemon Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Cooking Steps

  • Cook linguine as directed on the package, then drain and reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink; remove and set aside.
  • Add minced garlic to the skillet, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  • Pour in white wine or chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits. Simmer for 1 minute.
  • Return shrimp to the skillet, then add the cooked linguine, fresh parsley, and red pepper flakes, tossing to combine.
  • If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste, then serve the dish immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the shrimp in a little olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper for 10-15 minutes before cooking. Adjust red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
