  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Large bowl
  • Whisk
  • Wire rack
  • Toothpick

Ingredients

Brownie Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Decoration

  • Red candy melts or red jelly beans for Rudolph's nose
  • Mini pretzel twists for antlers

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by greasing and flouring it or lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.

Baking and Decorating

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting them into squares.
  • To decorate, attach a red candy melt or jelly bean as a nose, using frosting or melted chocolate if needed.
  • Place two mini pretzel twists above the nose for antlers, then store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

For extra festive flair, consider adding green candy melts as well or sprinkle with edible glitter. Make sure the brownies are completely cool before decorating to prevent the candy from melting. If you don't have red candy melts, red M&Ms or other small red candies can be a good substitute for the noses.
