  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 28 oz diced tomatoes undrained
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 head cabbage chopped
  • 1.5 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

  • Brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic in a large skillet, then drain any excess fat.
  • Transfer the beef mixture to the slow cooker and stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, chopped cabbage, cooked rice, salt, and pepper.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, or until the cabbage is tender.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the slow cooker. You can also garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
