Equipment

  • Loaf Pan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Meat Thermometer

Ingredients

Meatloaf

  • 1.5 - 2 pounds Ground Meat lean ground beef, ground turkey, or a mix of beef and pork
  • 1 can Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup 10.5-ounce
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup or BBQ Sauce for glaze, optional but recommended
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or onion powder Optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or a baking sheet.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, cream of mushroom soup, black pepper, and optional garlic or onion powder.

Cooking

  • Mix gently until just combined, avoiding overmixing to prevent a tough meatloaf.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing evenly, or shape into a rectangular loaf if using a baking sheet.
  • If desired, spread ketchup or BBQ sauce over the meatloaf.
  • Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for ground beef or 165°F (74°C) for ground turkey.

Resting

  • Remove from oven and let rest in the pan for 5-10 minutes before slicing for a tender and moist result.

Notes

For best results, do not overmix the meatloaf mixture. This can lead to a tough texture. Be sure to use a meat thermometer to ensure the meatloaf is cooked to a safe internal temperature.
