  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined (fresh or frozen, thawed)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter divided
  • 4-6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped

  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

  • Pat the shrimp dry and season generously with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink; remove and set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium, add remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, then pour in white wine or chicken broth, simmering for 1-2 minutes.
  • Return shrimp to the skillet, stir in lemon juice and parsley, and toss for 30 seconds before serving immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, use a good quality dry white wine. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, as they can become rubbery quickly.
