Equipment

  • medium bowl
  • wooden skewers
  • grill, oven, or air fryer
  • baking sheet (if baking)

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp sriracha sauce adjust to taste for spice
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Optional Garnish

  • Sesame seeds
  • chopped green onions

Instructions

Marinade Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, combine honey, sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil, then season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the chicken to the marinade, ensuring it's fully coated, then cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.

Cooking

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, or your oven to 400°F (200°C), or an air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the pre-soaked wooden skewers.
  • If grilling, cook skewers 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through; if baking, place on parchment-lined sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway; if air frying, arrange in a single layer and cook for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway.

Serving

  • Remove skewers from heat, then garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
  • Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

For even cooking, cut chicken pieces into uniform sizes. Soaking wooden skewers prevents them from burning on the grill.
