Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • small bowl
  • whisk

Ingredients

For the Salmon

  • 2 (6 oz each) salmon fillets skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Lemon Herb Butter Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels, then brush them lightly with olive oil and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Make the Lemon Herb Butter Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, dried dill, and dried parsley.
  • Season the sauce with a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste.

Cook the Salmon

  • Place the seasoned salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down if applicable.
  • Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork, then remove from the oven.

Serve

  • Drizzle the warm lemon herb butter sauce generously over the cooked salmon fillets.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes, like steamed asparagus or a baked potato.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can marinate the salmon in a small amount of the lemon herb butter sauce for 15-30 minutes before baking. Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of your salmon fillets; thicker fillets will require more time. Do not overcook the salmon to keep it moist and tender.
