  • 1 pound fresh or frozen shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4-5 cups broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced

For the Sauce

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more, to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger (optional)

Seasoning & Garnish

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and ginger in a small bowl, then set aside the sauce.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet, add broccoli florets and a pinch of salt; sauté for 5-7 minutes until crisp-tender and slightly charred, then remove and set aside.
  • Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the same skillet, then cook minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add shrimp in a single layer to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  • Return broccoli to the skillet with the shrimp, pour the prepared sauce over; toss to coat evenly and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings if needed; garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired, then serve immediately.

Notes

For extra heat, add more red pepper flakes. You can also add other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for more variety. Ensure shrimp are not overcooked to keep them tender.
