Steak

  • 1 lb skirt steak sliced thinly against the grain for best results

Marinade

  • ½ cup Fresh Cilantro finely chopped
  • 2-3 Limes juiced (about ¼ cup fresh lime juice)
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil plus more for cooking
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • ½ teaspoon Chili Powder optional
  • ½ teaspoon Salt or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper or to taste

Preparation

  • Whisk together cilantro, lime juice, minced garlic, olive oil, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl to create the marinade.

Marinating the Steak

  • Add the thinly sliced steak to the marinade and toss to ensure an even coating.
  • Let the steak marinate at room temperature for 10-30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  • Cook the steak in a single layer for 2-3 minutes per side until desired doneness.

Rest and Serve

  • Remove the cooked steak from the pan and let it rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Adjust chili powder to your spice preference. For a deeper flavor, marinate the steak in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours, but bring to room temperature before cooking.
