  • 1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup water

Optional Toppings

  • diced tomatoes
  • sliced green onions
  • sour cream
  • extra ranch for dipping

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned, then drain excess fat.
  • Stir in taco seasoning mix and 1/4 cup of water, cooking until liquid is absorbed.
  • Remove from heat and stir in ranch dressing and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined and the cheese starts to melt.
  • Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into individual triangles.
  • Spoon about a tablespoon of the taco ranch mixture onto the wider end of each crescent roll triangle.
  • Carefully roll the dough up towards the point, ensuring the filling is encased and seams are tucked underneath.
  • Place rolled bites seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving warm with optional toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat mixture. These bites are perfect as an appetizer or a light meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
